Cross-cutting Energy Science

Supervising Faculty: Ben Lawrie, Raphael Pooser

Emily began her career in Physics as an undergrad at the University of Alabama in Huntsville thinking she wanted to be an Astrophysicist. She soon learned she wanted to actually be an experimentalist and was such when Emily started graduate school at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. After writing her master’s thesis on detecting corrosion using passive RFID tags and graduating in May of 2015, Emily came to work as a Post Masters at ORNL. Since then she has been doing research in the field of quantum optics, focusing on nonlinear interferometry. In Emily's free time she enjoys board games, ice skating and ballroom dancing.
