Faculty Advisors: Dr. Orlando Rios, Dr. David Harper
Amy Kurr is a materials engineer with a focus on polymer degradation and decomposition. Her interests are focused on how changes on the microscale and macromolecular level can impact product performance. Products of interest include those which are used by or greatly impact military personnel, first responders, and industrial athletes. Ms. Kurr has prior experience working at the Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory, Cardiff University, RWTH Aachen University, and Schneider Electric. After completing her Ph.D. in Energy Science and Engineering at UTK, Ms. Kurr hopes to obtain employment in the forensic engineering field focused on polymer failure and fracture analysis.
