Blake is originally from Cloverport, KY. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) in 2017. During his undergraduate career, Blake was a research assistant at UAH and interned at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) twice through the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships program.

Blake is currently working in the Battery Manufacturing Facility at ORNL’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility. His current research focuses on exploring structure-property relationships in cathode slurries. Specifically, Blake is interested in characterizing cathode slurry gelation in order to improve the ability of slurries to be cast. In his spare time, Blake enjoys playing and coaching basketball, traveling, hiking, and other outdoor activities.
