Deeksha Rastogi

Environmental and Climate Sciences

Biography

Supervising Faculty: Moetasim Ashfaq

Deeksha Rastogi joined the Bredesen Center in Fall 2016. Prior to joining the center, she worked as a research associate in Climate Change Science Institute at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for 3.5 years. Her research mainly focuses on Climate Change and Variability, Weather/Climate Extremes and Regional Climate Modeling. She utilizes a range of earth system modeling tools to understand hydro-climate at varying spatiotemporal scales. While working at ORNL, she played a critical role in the development of a high-resolution climate simulation data for historical and future climate projection. She also contributed in the development of an integrated modeling framework to study the impacts of climate change on extreme rainfall. She plans to investigate the interplay between natural and human systems by focusing mainly on the impacts of climate change on weather extremes and human settlements.

Deeksha obtained her Master of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2012 and her Bachelor of Technology degree from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India in 2010.
