Bioenergy and Biofuels
Biography
Supervising Faculty: Cong T. Trinh
My research interests focus on metabolic engineering for production of high value added chemicals and biofuels from renewable resources and systems biology analysis of engineered strains. For my master’s thesis, I carried out a research project titled, “Production of 3-hydroxypropionic acid from xylose in recombinant Escherichia coli containing genes for Saccharomyces cerevisiae glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and glycerol-3-phosphatase.” After graduating, I joined the Bioprocess Engineering Team of Ildong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and worked as a research scientist. During this period, I took charge of the improvement of hyaluronic acid production in Streptococcus zooepidemicus and technology transfer from laboratory to factory. In my free time, I enjoy music, movies, traveling.
