Graduate Student
Program:

Energy Science and Engineering (ESE)

Perry interned twice with SULI at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and presented at two conferences: Pacifichem 2025 (“Novel Separation Method for Radiocopper from Zinc”) and ACS Spring 2026 (“Novel Methods for Separation of Titanium from Scandium”).

Education

B.S. Chemistry – University of Tennessee, Knoxville

Research

Perry’s research focuses on developing analytical methods for post-irradiation examination and spent nuclear fuel characterization, using high-performance ion chromatography coupled with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HPIC-ICPMS) alongside other in-line detection techniques. This work supports efforts to better understand fission product behavior, isotopic composition, and radiochemical speciation in irradiated nuclear materials, with applications spanning nuclear fuel cycle research, nuclear forensics, and nuclear security.
