Kruse’s previous research experience includes participating in the Big Data REU at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and working as a research assistant at Contamination Source Investigation/Wright Labs in Huntingdon, PA.
Education
Kruse completed his undergraduate degree at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA, majoring in Economics and minoring in Data Science, Mathematics, and German Studies.
Research
Kruse’s research focuses on the intersection of systems biology and deep learning. He’s working on various projects, including training computer vision models for high-throughput plant phenotyping, developing multi-modal deep learning models for genome-by-environment prediction, and building large language models for biological exploration and discovery.
